How To Find Your Saved Wifi Password?

Finding your saved Wi-Fi password can be helpful if you need to share it with someone else, or if you have forgotten it. The steps on how to find your saved Wi-Fi password will vary depending on your device, but the general process is the same.

On Windows

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click on Network and Internet.
  3. Click on Network and Sharing Center.
  4. On the left side, click on View network connections.
  5. Right-click on the Wi-Fi network that you want to find the password for, and then click on Properties.
  6. Click on the Security tab.
  7. Under Network security key, check the box next to Show characters.
  8. Your Wi-Fi password will be displayed in plain text.

On Mac

  1. Open the System Preferences.
  2. Click on Network.
  3. Select the Wi-Fi network that you want to find the password for.
  4. Click on the Advanced button.
  5. Click on the Wi-Fi tab.
  6. Under Password, click on the lock icon.
  7. Enter your administrator password, and then click on Unlock.
  8. Your Wi-Fi password will be displayed in plain text.

On Android

  2. Tap on Network & internet.
  3. Tap on Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap on the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to find the password for.
  5. Tap on Share.
  6. If you are asked to enter your device’s PIN or pattern, do so.
  7. Your Wi-Fi password will be displayed in plain text.

On iPhone

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on General.
  3. Tap on Passwords.
  4. If you are asked to enter your device’s passcode, do so.
  5. Under Wi-Fi Passwords, tap on the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to find the password for.
  6. Your Wi-Fi password will be displayed in plain text.

Note: If you are unable to find your saved Wi-Fi password using the above methods, you may need to contact your network administrator or the manufacturer of your device for assistance.

Additional Information

  • If you are using a rooted Android device, you can also find your saved Wi-Fi passwords by using a file explorer app to navigate to the /data/misc/wifi folder. The wpa_supplicant.conf file in this folder will contain a list of all of your saved Wi-Fi networks, including their passwords.
  • If you are using a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, you can also find your saved Wi-Fi passwords in the Keychain Access app. To do this, open Keychain Access, click on the Passwords category, and then search for the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to find the password for.
