Google Announces AI Training Programs for SMBs

Google is looking to help SMBs better understand the potential of generative AI to enhance their business processes through a new grant program and AI workshop initiative. These efforts will provide advanced AI training to U.S. based small business operators.

First, Google is offering $10 million in funding to create a new AI training program in collaboration with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

This initiative aims to increase awareness and understanding of AI tools, helping small businesses take better advantage of available technologies. As AI continues to evolve and competitors adopt more advanced tools, staying informed and adaptable will be increasingly important.

In addition to this, Google’s Grow with Google program is launching an on-demand AI training course designed to help small businesses leverage Google’s AI-powered tools.

Google AI for SMBs

The AI workshop, developed with input from Google experts and insights from small businesses, offers a comprehensive guide on how SMBs can use AI to optimize processes and improve their operations in various ways.

Google’s Grow with Google Digital Coaches will also teach these lessons across the U.S., with SMBs able to register for the workshops online.

While it’s hard to predict the full impact of AI on business operations, we’re just at the beginning of its development. As AI technology advances, there will be more ways to use it for optimizing daily business functions.

That doesn’t necessarily mean AI will replace staff or completely revolutionize business models. However, learning how generative AI can complement existing operations is crucial for businesses that want to remain competitive and innovative.
